Yacatsol is a musical project by Iris Rodriguez (of Xica Media). As a producer and artist, her music and collaborations are rooted in the journey of what it means to be a human being, decolonization, healing, and connection with Nature. With sounds and melodies made by millenary instruments and digital genre-breaking fusions, this project decolonizes the ear, makes people dance, and moves hearts…with a cause.

The name of Yacatsol is rooted in one of the many names of the landscape of ancient forests in the so-called Edwards Plateau of Texas.  The original name of Yacatsol Dacate means “place of the noses of stone,” which is a prominent geographical feature throughout the Hill Country landscape.
