About

Yetlanezi

Using ancient instruments of Mexico, Yetlanezi unites the ceremonial past with the digital future and brings the sounds of the earth to the virtual world.

Yetlanezi is a music project by Topiltzin and Ce Acatl Borsegui, who inherited the cultural musical heritage work from their father, Isaac Borsegui of Tonala, Jalisco, known as Grupo Huehuetl in the 1970s. The family was raised in the musical tradition of the Danza de Sonajeros  of Tuxpan, Jalisco.

By fusing the traditional rhythms and instruments of Mexico, Yetlanezi fused the traditional aesthetic to electronica and created modern ancient-sounding theatrical scores that provoke the emotions.
